| St. Timothy's Episcopal Church St. Timothy's has been an important and viable part of the Iola Community since 1900. The Cornerstone of the Church is currently being refurbished to reflect the importance of the Church's teachings to it's members and to the community. St. Timothy's is not about fire and brimstone, but of the love and fellowship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We follow the Book of Common Prayer (Version 1979) which is an interactive service for everyone interested in His service to humanity. St. Timothy's works quietly for the members of the Church, the Community, the Nation, and the World by our Outreach Programs. Recent Outreach efforts have included "Adopt a Family" for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Seasons, continued contributions to the local Community Food Pantry, supporting ground troop individuals in Iraq, supplying support for the Tsunami Disaster, and any individuals known to the Church or its members that may need assistance. During the winter months, St. Tim's hosts Community Suppers, This winter we have had a "Chili Fiesta", a "Ham and Bean Supper", a "Chicken and Noodle Feed" and later will host a "Spaghetti Dinner". These dinners are open to the public, for the public and are free will offerings. We wish to target everyone, not only those that have the funds to "eat out". So far the contributions for Winter 2004-2005 have exceeded $1,000 for our Outreach Programs. |
